[NOV] The Global Civil War was a "rapid spiraling of diverse conflicts" that was well on its way becoming a "full-scale worldwide struggle" on Earth by 1994 (b01.01.09). The conflict began sometime around the early 1990s, "almost ten years" before the arrival of the SDF-1 (b01.01.09). In the war, the Internationalists fought against factionalist groups like the Northeast Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere (b01.01.11) to unify and bring peace to the planet.

Within hours after the arrival of the SDF-1, the leaders of the wars various factions cemented an uneasy peace, stopping the war (b01.01.11). -Macross
