| Corg, Invid Prince [ANI] Corg and Sera were created in a "Protoculture chamber" (e76.00:04) by the Regis, Queen of the Invid. They were "transformed" (e76.00:10) through a "bio-mass reconstruction" (e76.00:14) process from the bodies and mecha of two Invid Pincer troopers into creatures with human bodies and a new type of humanoid Invid mecha. One of these new Invid life-forms had masculine features and received the name Corg. The other possessed feminine features and received the name Sera. The Regis claimed that they were "truly the inheritors of my lineage" (e76.00:45) and as a Queen, awarded them the appropriate titles of Prince and Princess of the Invid race (e76.00:50). The Regis selected to craft them in humanoid form as she concluded that it was "the most advanced and flexible configuration for survival" (e76.01:03) on the Invid's new home of Earth. Corg and Sera were evolutional experiments (or more accurately prototypes) for the Regis' new Invid society. The "first experiment in humanoid reconstruction" (e76.01:12), the spy Ariel (e76.01:16), had apparently "malfunctioned" (e76.01:14) and failed to establish communications with the Invid collective (e76.01:20). Before the Regis could begin the "complete metamorphosis" (e76.01:28) of her race to humanoid form, she had to understand the cause of this malfunction. Corg and Sera were ordered to contact Ariel and "determine the cause of her dysfunction" (e76.01:25) so that it could be remedied and the "final phase of [the Invid's] domination" (e76.01:32) of Earth could begin. Corg and Sera found Ariel and her companion resistance fighters (who her human companions had named Marlene) at a tropical island (e76.05:23) and in the ensuing battle, Corg and Sera's forces were defeated. Corg would later run into Scott's group again in the ghost town of Denver (e79.13:34). He managed to locate Arial, but her four Cyclone-clad companions managed to heavily damage his mecha (e79.17:25) and disable the two pincer units that accompanied him. Corg reveals his impatience and head-strong attitude when his forces walk into a trap set by Scott and his team. Using a bio-emulator that synthetically produced Protoculture emanations (e80.14:52), the resistance fighters lured Corg's patrol to a location planted with explosive charges. Corg ignored the Regis' warnings and calculations indicating the situation was a trap as he believed the humans were "incapable of such a deception" (e80.15:11). His inability to properly access and react to the situation resulted in the destruction of most of his patrol group though he was able to escape intact. Corg was next in New York, where the Regis had placed Sera in charge (e82.07:58). The differences between the psyches of Corg and Sera were becoming more and more apparent and they began to disagree and openly argue. Sera was conducting an observational experiment (e82.11:24) in the city and ordered him to cease his "indiscriminate destruction" (e82.07:33) within it. Corg felt that Sera was being too lenient on the humans (e82.07:40) and felt that the planned period of human experimentation and observation was at an end. To Corg, all that was left to do was carry out the Invid's grand plan "to save only a small percentage of the humans to use as workers on [their] Protoculture farms" (e82.08:08) and exterminate the rest of the population (e82.08:14). Blatantly ignoring Sera's orders, Corg lead his forces through the streets of New York with the intentions to "depopulate the city" (e82.08:47) and "sabotage" Sera's experiment (e82.11:23). Coincidentally, Scott and his resistance fighters were in New York and they took to the defense of the city's innocent civilians. Not only was Corg and his forces unable to defeat the four Veritechs fighters of Scott's group, they were also unable to stop them from penetrating the vulnerable interior of the city's hive and destroying it (e82.18:01). Corg next appeared at Reflex Point with Sera just as the REF's final attack was commencing. The Regis ordered all her forces into battle, but called upon him alone to "defend the hive and destroy those who threaten it" (e84.05:39). Ariel appeared before him and Sera right before their launch and tried to get them to stand down, saying "this madness must be stopped" (e84.05:53) and explaining that the humans were "only fighting to regain the land that is rightfully theirs, the land we're taking away from them" (e84.05:57). Corg brushed away her words, bitterly replying "you've lived with [the humans] to long Ariel" (e84.06:04) and headed into the battle. Corg was shocked to discover that during the battle, Sera had rescued Lancer's Alpha, and he felt she was "as much as a traitor as Ariel" (e84.10:47). He was even more shocked to find out that Ariel had managed to lead her companions into the central core of the hive and they all were openly talking with the Regis (e84.17:12). Corg interrupted the debate and Scott fled in his Alpha Veritech (e84.17:57) to meet him in battle. In a fierce contest, Corg bested Scott and sent his mecha crashing onto the surface (e85.00:59). He then downed several other Alpha Veritechs before engaging the Alphas of Rand and Rook (e85.05:52). Corg managed to knock the rifle from Rand's battloid, but Rand was able to grapple him into a submission hold, leaving Rook with a risky shot. Fearing her shot might hit Rand, she hesitated and Corg freed himself. Rand heroically saved Rook by body-checking Corg (e85.06:43) and ruining his shot, but the maneuver put Rand in a disadvantageous position and Corg scored multiple hits on his Alpha (e85.06:48). Rook followed Rand's disabled mecha down, catching him in mid-flight, and just as it seemed they both were done for, Scott arrived in his Beta to finish his fight (e85.07:05). Scott scored with a few rifle shots due to his element of surprise and traded missile salvos with Corg (e85.07:30). Scott cleverly faked out (e85.07:32) his opponent and released a final missile salvo, obliterating Corg's mecha (e85.07:51) and ending his reign as Prince of the Invid race. -Macross "Remember, these are Robotech rebels. They are not to be neutralized, they are to be destroyed" -Corg (e80.13:00) "...we planned to save only a small percentage of the humans to use as workers on our Protoculture farms, the rest have always been scheduled for extermination. I intend to begin that process immediately." - Corg to Sera (e82.08:08) |
