Bernard, Scott [ANI] Scott Bernard was a Veritech pilot in the Robotech Expeditionary Force and was the commander of the 21st Combat Squadron, Mars Division (e61.04.48). His fleet was to be the spearhead of a massive operation to retake Earth from the Invid (e61.03:04), but soon after its arrival into Earth-space, it was attacked and utterly decimated by waves of countless Invid mecha. Scott was forced to watch helplessly as his fiancé, Marlene, died while her transport burned up during its decent into Earth's atmosphere (e61.08:34). Scott's Veritech crash-landed and he spent his first night on Earth huddled in his cockpit seeking shelter from a lightning storm (which he had never encountered before) and mourning the loss of his beloved Marlene (e61.11:49). In the morning his mind cleared and he channeled his torrent of emotions into the completion of his mission: to locate and destroy the Invid's Reflex Point and their queen, the Regis (e61.12:47). Alone and stranded on a foreign planet, Scott developed an extraordinarily intense commitment to this mission as it became the one thing, the only thing, that gave his life purpose and direction. For inspiration, he reminded himself that "many brave people died for [this mission]" (e61.12:41), including his fiancé, whose holo-locket he kept around his neck as a motivator to deliever the payback he owes the Invid. Armed with his determination, skill and reconfigurable Cyclone mecha, Scott set out into the wastelands of Earth and soon encountered -Macross [NOV] Scott Bernard was a Lieutenant in the Robotech Expeditionary Forces (b10.01.10) and was the commander of the 21st Armored Tactical Assault Squadron, Mars Division (b10.01.16).
